IIT Bombay participated in IInvenTiv 2025 - a mega R&D fair where all IITs, NITs, IISERs and top 50 ranked NIRF institutions in the country came together to showcase their R&D activities. The fair was held at IIT Madras in Chennai during February 28 – March 1, 2025.

The Honourable Minister of State for Education Dr. Sukanta Majumdar inaugurated the event, which was attended by academicians, entrepreneurs and industry leaders. Prof. Shireesh Kedare, Director of IIT Bombay led the delegation at IInvenTiv 2025.

IIT Bombay set up following 6 exhibits showcasing technologies of national and societal importance in multiple domains like aviation, space, defence, AI/ML, advanced manufacturing, Circularity & Sustainability, Smart City & Infrastructure, Marine Technology:

1. ‘Portable magnetometer using diamond color defects’ by Prof. Kasturi Saha, Department of Electrical Engineering

2. ‘Thin temperature shielding, sound insulating and corrosion resistant coatings’ by Prof. Smrutiranjan Parida, Department of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science

3. ‘AI Tool for Oral Reading Fluency Assessment’ by Prof. Preeti Rao, Department of Electrical Engineering

4. ‘Spanda 1: India's 1st 3D SLA micro-printer’ by Prof. Prasanna Gandhi, Department of Mechanical Engineering

5. ‘A system for removing floating debris in an open water channel’ by Prof. V. Jothiprakash, Department of Civil Engineering

6. ‘Tow-fish for pipeline inspection’ by Prof. Leena Vachhani, Centre for Systems and Control Engineering
