Celebration of Jan Jatiya Gaurav Divas

IIT Bombay has recently launched year-long celebrations for 'Jan Jatiya Gaurav Varsh' to honor the 150th birth anniversary of respected tribal leader Bhagwan Birsa Munda, known for his significant contributions to India's struggle for independence.

The celebration kicked-off with the inaugural ceremony Jan Jatiya Gaurav Divas on 18th November, 2024, at the Institute campus. The event began with floral tributes to prominent Indian leaders, including Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

Mr. Ganesh Bhorkhade, the Registrar of IIT Bombay, was the Chief Guest at the event. He extended heartfelt wishes to everyone present and emphasized the importance of community support in achieving collective goals. The Guest of Honour, Prof. Nand Kishore, Dean (Administrative Affairs), IIT Bombay, highlighted the enduring values of courage and resilience exemplified by Birsa Munda.
