Prof. Nibedita Rakshit, Department of Earth Sciences, has been honoured for her contributions to coprolite ichnology, with Dr. Adrian P. Hunt (Flying Heritage and Combat Armor Museum, USA) and colleagues naming a newly discovered coprolite species, Kylindrocopros rakshitae, after her. The species was discovered in the Late Eocene Yazoo Clay Formation in Louisiana, USA (Hunt et al., 2026).
