iv | Course content | The pre-midsem part deals with the technology behind the important metal forming operations. The primary forming processes covered include rolling, extrusion, forging, wire drawing and sheet-metal forming. The post-midsem part deals with ‘Case Studies’, wherein the thermo-mechanical processing of some important products is analysed. Examples include aluminium beverage cans, steel for car body applications & zirconium alloys for the nuclear industry.
