Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay and University of North Texas (UNT), USA jointly organized the International Conference on Entrepreneurship and Family Business (ICEFB) on January 8-10, 2018. It was aimed at tackling challenges facing small and medium enterprises and family firms around the world.
UNT’s College of Business and the IIT Bombay's SJMSOM had conducted what may be one of the first such events of its kind, designed around the increasing attention surrounding entrepreneurship in emerging economies. Scholars, policy makers, academics and business practitioners from different countries came together to discuss the ways in which entrepreneurship can help individual companies and the larger, worldwide economy grow.
Prof. P.V. Balaji, Dean (Research and Development) and Dr. Marilyn Wiley, Dean, College of Business, University of north Texas jointly inaugurated the conference. 26 papers on different 9 tracks were presented across 3 days during the conference. Each track had a Chairperson and a Rapporteur (PhD students). The 9 tracks are:

Prof. S. Bhargava, SJMSOM, IIT Bombay and Dr. Manjula Salimath were ICFEB Program Chairs. The conference also witnessed cultural programme on Bharatnatyam on January 9, 2018 evening.
